“Can we make the splash screen last longer?”
I wasn’t expecting that question, but am learning that you’ll never be able to predict the most memorable enquiries from users of our platform, new and old.
“Probably… um, why would you…”
“…because it looks so cool!”
David’s enthusiasm for his nascent LocalFilmCo App was fully on display all afternoon, but the idea of slowing the user experience for the sake of enjoying the coolness of the Splash screen wasn’t all that surprising in that David is a filmmaker who’s built his craft for 20 years around making things look cool. From Nike to the Dorchester and back through dozens of brands you’ve heard of if not coveted yourself, David has directed films to adorn their images with a deep serving of cool.
Now he’s taking his knowledge of filmmaking and approach to creating beautiful-to-watch and effective narrative short stories to the furthest reaches of the UK and beyond. The Local Film Company’s small but growing network of local partners (deputies) learn from David’s approach on an ongoing basis, they share the Know-How on every aspect of making extraordinary films for SME’s to share and reap the benefits of years of experience. One thing’s for sure, in our social media frenzied world, video is becoming truly king… and why wouldn’t it? Until the fully immersive AR/VR equipment can take us seamlessly to new worlds, video is the best we’ve got!
The Local Film Company’s local deputies will offer the perfect 90, 60 and 30-second film packages to local businesses, from restaurants and clubs to museums, basically businesses of every description can benefit from including all the social media gravitas of appearing in channels with thousands of collective eyeballs learning about what makes them special. Not only that, but local deputies will also compete with one another for the coveted Local Film Company’s Film of the Month Prize which they’ll each enter the best film they produced that month, and will vote each other’s entries from up and down the country!
Quickclass’ is blessed to be involved at the core of what the Local Film Company network will offer its local filmmaking deputies – giving them the keys to the Kingdom of Filmmaking Knowledge and experience through their LocalFilmCo App and LMS Platform. These will also be central to how the deputies interact with their clients at every stage, and it will become pivotal to how the network of deputy filmmakers will evolve into a community and hopefully a family, which will be key to the whole endeavor’s success.
So, sure David, we’ll give your App’s Splash screen a full second and a half minimum in front of your fellow filmmakers and their clients’ eyes… because you’re right.
It looks cool.
